Citizens Advice Hillingdon joins Akash Radio to discuss our Macmillan Cancer Welfare Benefits project
Raising Awareness Through Community Radio

On Thursday 20th August, Citizens Advice Hillingdon will once again be joining Akash Radio to discuss our Macmillan Cancer Welfare Benefits Project and the specialist support available for people affected by cancer.
The interview will be broadcast from 1:35pm to 2:00pm as part of Akash Radio's regular community programme. Broadcast in both English and Punjabi, the session aims to reach more residents across Hillingdon and surrounding areas with information about the free, confidential advice available through the project.

Supporting People Affected by Cancer

A cancer diagnosis can often bring unexpected financial worries alongside the challenges of treatment and recovery. Through our partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, Citizens Advice Hillingdon provides specialist welfare benefits advice to people living with cancer, their carers and bereaved family members.

Our dedicated advisers can help with:

Welfare benefits and benefit entitlement
Financial support and grants
Help with completing benefit applications and forms
Advice on managing the financial impact of a cancer diagnosis

Our service is free, confidential and independent, helping people access the support they are entitled to at what can be a very difficult time.

Why Community Radio Matters

Community radio helps us connect with residents who may not otherwise know that specialist support is available. By working with trusted local partners like Akash Radio, we can ensure important information reaches more people in languages and formats that are accessible to our diverse communities.
