Bureaux
Each of our three bureaux provide a reception assessment service at fixed times and offer assistance from a range of advice and information services, including appointments with advice workers and other agencies providing pro bono work. See the our home page for details.

Telephone Assessment Service
We also provide a telephone assessment service on:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 3pm. (Calls cost 5p per minute from a BT landline).

An initial assessment will be made to quickly establish the nature of your enquiry and assistance offered from a range of advice and information services. An automated information service is provided at other times.

Kiosk
Self help information kiosks are now located at our Uxbridge and Hayes bureaux. The Kiosk are touch screen internet browsers providing access to key information sites.

Projects
Each year Hillingdon and Ealing Citizens Advice undertakes a number of projects providing advice to specific groups. The following are a sample of the projects undertaken (click on the titles for more information):-


Mortgage Rescue Scheme
This service is operating in partnership with London Borough of Hillingdon Housing Services to provide Money Advice for people who are at risk of losing their homes through mortgage arrears, and to assist eligible homeowners to access the Mortgage Rescue Scheme.

Money Advice for Tenants

A successful ‘fast track’ service for tenants with rent arrears funded by Hillingdon Housing Service. Many potential evictions have been averted by successful negotiation of affordable repayment plans for priority and non-priority debts.

Money Advice
Money advice and information is provided at all three bureaux. This includes debt management and income maximisation (note however that no advice is given on choosing specific financial products or investments). Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual Advice
Uxbridge CAB now has an adviser specifically for the local lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual community who can
help with problems like benefits, debt, employment and housing.

Outreach
Each year Hillingdon and Ealing Citizens Advice undertakes a number of Outreach projects to providing advice to specific groups across a wider area. The following are a sample of the Outreach projects undertaken (click on the titles for more information):-

Children's Centre Outreach
We have added an additional Children Centre to the existing six at which we provide weekly advice sessions to provide support for families with young children that need help to resolve problems with issues such as debt, welfare benefits and housing. GP Surgeries Outreach Project
Funded by the Borough and Primary Care Trust, weekly advice sessions are run at a number of health centres to help Clients deal with situations that are affecting their health. This essentially provides a holistic treatment for health issues.

Mental Health Outreach
Provides  a well used welfare benefits and money advice service part-time to users of three mental health centres in the borough of Hillingdon.

Veolia Water Trust Outreach
We are working with Three Valleys Water Trust to assist individuals and families who live in the Hayes and Southall areas and who are in need and on a low income, or claiming welfare benefits, gain financial assistance to clear their domestic water and sewerage debts

Moneywise
Funded by Hillingdon Community Trust we launched our first fully integrated debt advice and financial capability service, Moneywise on the 9th July 2011 with the aim of alleviating the stress of trying to deal unmanageable debts and increasing local residents skills and confidence in managing their money in the longer term.
