pre-booked appointments with advice workers and other agencies providing

Kiosk
Self help information kiosks are now located at our Uxbridge and Hayes
bureaux. The Kiosk are touch screen internet browsers providing access to
key information sites.

Projects
Each year Hillingdon and Ealing Citizens Advice undertakes a number of
projects providing advice to specific groups. The following are a sample
of the projects undertaken (click on the titles for more information):-
Financial Capability
In connection with the West London Financial Capability Forum Hillingdon
and Ealing Citizens Advice is delivering 8 sessions as part of the Office
of Fair Trading Save for Xmas campaign and 4 sessions for Energy Best
Deal. These sessions are aimed at frontline workers and end service users
who can be signposted to a range of further help with issues like fuel
debt, energy efficiency and saving for Xmas.
Refugee & Assylum
Seeker Project
This is a Hayes based project dealing with the large numbers of Refugees
and people seeking Assylum that arrive in the borough due to the proximity
of Heathrow.
Money Advice for
Tenants
A successful ‘fast track’ service for tenants with rent arrears funded
by Paradigm Community Grants and Hillingdon Homes Ltd. Many potential
evictions have been averted by successful negotiation of affordable
repayment plans for priority and non-priority debts.

Money Advice
The Money Advice Project provides a targeted service to clients with debt
problems referred from CAB advisers and makes referrals to specialists such as
the Mary Ward Legal Centre based at the Uxbridge Office. No advice is given on
financial products or investments.

GP Surgeries
Outreach Project
Funded by the Borough and Primary Care Trust, weekly advice sessions are
run at a number of health centres to help Clients deal with situations
that are affecting their health. This essentially provides a holistic
treatment for health issues.
Mental Health
Outreach
Provides a well used welfare
benefits and money advice service part-time to users of three mental
health centres in the borough of Hillingdon.
